THE POSITION

Title: SENIOR DIRECTOR – SALES & MEMBER, MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

Reports to: CEO

Duties: The broad outline of duties includes:

- Responsible for handling the sales of 7 Therapeutic Segments (Cardiovascular, Oncology, CNS, thrombosis, metabolic disorders, internal medicine and vaccines) with sales turnover of more than Rs. 700 Crores and scheduled to cross Rs 900 crores
- Achieve agreed sales targets across the promoted product portfolio
- Manage the development and implementation of sales tactical plans consistent with global business strategy.
- Ensure salesforce has clear targets, defined in collaboration with Marketing; allocate the appropriate level of effort and resources, defining optimal KPIs for the follow-up of salesforce activities
- Ensure the effectiveness of sales & marketing methods and tools; define effective incentive schemes consistent with product strategy
- Build and maintain a dynamic salesforce, through effective recruitment and selection processes, aimed at enhancing Sanofi Aventis' image, competitivity and success in the market
- Optimize cross-functional support needs in the organization, ensuring effective communication between direct reports and with the Regulatory and Medical teams.
- Plan and control local selling investment, ensuring cost-efficiency at all times and particular focus on controllable expenses.
- Maintain productive relationships with key local customers and commercial partners
- Launch of New Products as per Global launch Plans
- Defend leadership position of the company’s portfolio
- Improve control and review system, forecast accuracy, restructure low productivity SBU’s and creating new SBUs and process in-licensing opportunities

- Protect existing business from market share erosion
- Manage the salesforce and sales-management organization, ensuring that staff and salesforce reps are properly coached, given the opportunity to develop and be continually motivated to handle the demands of their jobs and achieve their objectives
- Foster a teamwork approach and a sense of partnership with the marketing team, aimed at optimizing all opportunities to identify and exploit synergies and enhance sales-effectiveness

THE PERSON

Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in handling sales in a pharmaceutical company with a sales turnover of more than Rs. 500 Crores.

Education: MBA in Marketing from a reputed institute.

Specifics:

- Proven track record of handling sales volume of Rs. 500 Crores.
- Prior experience of handling sales in the domestic markets.
- Should have experience in working with a multinational company.

50 Lacs-1 Crore
