Position Specification
THE POSITION
Title: MARKETING DIRECTOR
Reports to: CEO
Duties: The broad outline of duties includes:
- Achieve Marketing objectives as agreed with management, managing the development and implementation of marketing plans consistent with the global business strategy for a Rs 1,000 crore portfolio
- Focus on the success of product portfolio, managing the product launch process through effective resource-allocation, maximizing product life-cycles and ensuring portfolio optimisation in a dynamic environment
- Ensure effective communication between direct reports and with the Regulatory, Medical, Sales and Finance teams in order to achieve integrated brand plans, forecasts and activities
- Manage professional networks at all levels of the global, regional and country marketing organizations including interacting with global team members and convincing them of the India opportunity
- Ensure professional marketing and product training support to the sales organization.
- Supervise the organization of local marketing events, building and maintaining relations with key opinion-leaders at the country level
- Establish appropriate market research systems and procedures to validate key performance indicators and to help to determine new commercial orientations as appropriate
- Plan and control local marketing investment and resource allocation, according to product priorities, ensuring cost-efficiency at all times and particular focus on advertising and promotion and other controllable expenses.
- Structure and develop a dynamic marketing team aimed at enhancing Sanofi Aventis' image and competitively in the market; within the organization provide a clear vision of the pharmaceutical environment and the context of Sanofi Aventis' key therapeutic areas in the market
- Direct and manage all activities of the Marketing team, ensuring that staff is properly coached, given the opportunity to develop and be continually motivated to handle the demands of their jobs and achieve their objectives.
THE PERSON
Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience in marketing in a top 10 pharmaceutical company with a sales turnover of more than Rs. 500 Crores or SBU head in Cardio, CNS divisions of a top 10 pharmaceutical company responsible for a portfolio of Rs 500 crores or above
Education: MBA in Marketing from a reputed institute
Specific
- Must have excellent verbal and written presentation skills
- Must be personality and ability to deal in global and multinational environments
