Position Specification


THE POSITION

Title: HEAD – SUPPLY CHAIN

Reports to: Head – VMRD – Pharmaceutical Sciences, India/Senior Director

Duties: The candidate will have the following broad duties:
- Responsible for managing the supply chain.
- Monitor & supervise the supply / sales of the drugs.
- Responsible for Vendor development and developing substitutes.
- Design and implement solutions (including IT solutions) in supply chain (i.e. procurement, WH, planning, QC & production).
- Development of controls / reports / feedback mechanisms for efficiency improvement in manufacturing supply chain.
- Implement effective vendor strategy (Material buying, cost optimization, negotiation with vendors) for requirement /supply communication.
- Materials management related to outsourcing (Third Party logistics), optimal inventory management, quality transportation to minimize costs and damages, etc.
- Material Codification and Standardization.
- Monitor the flow of finished goods from the stage of manufacturing to final delivery.
- Ensuring inventory insurance coverage at all times.
- Reduce corporate financial liability by managing inventory levels of incoming materials and finished goods.
- Provide outstanding customer service by building and maintaining excellent customer / supplier relationships.
- Responsible for Stock management and Central warehousing operations.

Challenges:
- Achieve JIT with minimum cost and absolute minimum inventory.
- Supports the Global Supply Chain (GSC) processes by maintaining the GSC ways of working and adhering to policies and procedures.

THE PERSON

Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Education: - B.E. – Production and an MBA in Supply Chain/Logistics
- Graduate / Diploma in Materials Management.

Specific:
- Should be a BE – Production and MBA - Supply Chain.
- Should be familiar with global pharma supply chain process.
