POSITION SPECIFICATION

Title: HEAD OF TECHNOLOGY

Reports to: CHIEF OF TECHNOLOGY


DUTIES
- To lead the development of the new radial products, across all categories (light truck, car, jeep, farm etc.)
- Play a critical role in areas like reduction of new product development time.
- Reduce product cost reduction.
- To implement new product developments.
- Analyze and compete with global benchmarks.
- Be responsible for research activities.


CHALLENGES

- Has to be able to compete with global benchmarks.
- Be able to live in India.
- Come up with innovations.
- To produce and make products for the Indian roads.
- Increase durability of the products.
- Concentrate on technology that reduces wear & tear to increase longevity rather than speed.


THE ORGANIZATION

Location: To be based at the plant in Vadodara (Baroda) or Delhi.

Revenues: $ 500 million.

THE PERSON

- Should have extensive experience in the development of the technical/technology and production functions of large tyre manufacturing companies.
- Currently, they should be the number 1 or 2 in such functions in their organizations.


COMPETENCIES

- Should be an expert on rubber technology.
- Should have innovative and persuasion skills.
- Be flexible in adapting to different work cultures.( pls see if this point could be appropriate)
- Should be proactive.

EDUCATION& EXPEREIENCE

- Should have 10-15 years experience as a rubber technologist in Top 10 rubber companies.
